Since the Taliban took over power in Afghanistan in August 2021, the country has witnessed significant changes in governance mechanism, implemented stringent human rights policies, and is struggling with the international recognition. While efforts to establish and enforce political stability continue, Afghanistan faces severe economic distress, widespread human rights violations—particularly against women and girls— a growing humanitarian crisis and a massive outflow of people.

Mohammad Khalid Ramizy
serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the World Anti-Extremism Network, an international non-profit organization headquartered in Canada dedicated to creating a world free from violent extremism and authoritarianism.
Shikiba Babori
was born in Kabul and came to Germany with her family in the late 1970s. Since NATO troops left Afghanistan in August 2021, she has become the voice of Afghan women in the German media. She has trained journalists in Afghanistan and is the founder of Kalima News network.
Fereshta Abbasi
is a Researcher in the Asia division at Human Rights Watch, focusing on research and documentation of ongoing abuses in Afghanistan. For the past 10 years she has documented human rights abuses in Afghanistan with different organizations.
Dr. Abbas Farasoo
served as Afghanistan’s Deputy Ambassador to Australia (2014–2017) and held senior roles in its Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Currently, he is a researcher at La Trobe University and has taught political science at the University of Melbourne and Deakin University.
