As a prominent spiritual leader and a symbol of the Tibetan struggle for self-determination, His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama has profoundly influenced the global dialogue on democracy, religious freedom, and non-violence. His Holiness has also been a driving force for democratic reform of the Tibetan government-in-exile — a process the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom has been supporting since 1991.

His Holiness' 90th birthday in July 2025 marked the beginning of the “Year of Compassion,” a global initiative celebrating his lifelong commitment to compassion, wisdom, and peace. We invite you to join us in commemorating his lifetime achievements and the impact he has had on people around the world.
