Kazakhstan after Russia's full-scale attack on Ukraine
As a close neighbor of Russia, Kazakhstan has closely been monitoring Russia's escalating behavior against Ukraine. The recent large-scale attack by Russian forces on Ukraine has caused great concern and alertness in Kazakhstan. How has Kazakhstan responded and how has this war changed the goverment's foreign policy over the past thirteen months? We are pleased to talk and discuss these issues with Ute Kochlowski-Kadjaia, head of the Russia and Central Asia office of the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom, and Temur Umarov, fellow at the Carnegie Russia Eurasia Center.
About our series „Neighbouring Russia“: How did Russia's neighboring countries react one year after the full scale attack on Ukraine? That is what the Friedrich Naumann Foundation wants to explore in a twelve-part virtual series of events. Together with international experts, we examine individual countries or regions and discuss important domestic and foreign policy processes.
