On July 1, 2020, Germany assumed the presidency of the Council of the European Union, taking leadership in defining the EU’s legislative agenda and political priorities for the next six months. MP Michael Link, Spokesperson for European Affairs for the FDP Parliamentary Group, will discuss Germany’s role in the EU Council presidency to handle the economic and public health consequences of the coronavirus pandemic, foreign and security policy challenges, and transatlantic cooperation between the US and EU.
